Raidfire Spear
The RaidFire® SpearTM is specifically designed to achieve the longest light throw distance of any light in its class. Compared to any other similarly featured flashlights currently available, none can match the same distance of throw. EDGE Tactical Light Co. Ltd.'s designer Y. D. Wong observed that there was a throw limit that these other flashlights could not go beyond with their current designs and physical constraints. The observed limitation was due to the technology applied during the machining process. Extending the throw distance in this class of lights, requires an increase in the diameter of the reflector, which also increases the weight and size of the flashlight. Y.D. Wong understood that using "standard" machining techniques, the resulting increase in size and weight of the light to achieve the desired throw, would remove the light from an EDC (Every Day Carry) class. He was determined to create a light which could achieve a throw which went beyond current designs.
